This session is meant to focus entirely on you, capturing the beauty of pregnancy. Your husband and children are also welcome and encouraged to come along and be a part of your session.
Vixen’s maternity sessions can be styled as a pin up shoot or a more romantic ethereal feel.
When is the best time to capture my maternity portraits?
Ideally during your third trimester is best, between your 30-34th week, but maternity portraits can be captured at any time during your pregnancy. It’s great to book your session for when you are further along in your pregnancy so you can show off your baby bump!
What do I wear & bring?
Be sure to wear loose fitting clothing for the few hours before you session to avoid marks from bra straps, socks or elastic waist bands.
It’s great if you can bring a few outfit options. Here are some suggestions:
- Long maxi skirts
- Tank tops or t-shirts in neutral colours
- Bandeaus or bra-lets
- A great pair of jeans
- A cute dress
- Scarves or shawls for draping
- Ultrasound print outs
- Your baby-to-be’s first shoes or outfit
- Any gifts or baby toys that you want to use as props
Vixen also has some wardrobe items available for your session:
- Robes in black and white
- Bandeaus in white, grey and dark blue
- White sheer and solid draping material
- Floor length and knee length sheer dresses
Can you retouch stretch marks or blemishes?
Don’t worry, anything you are concerned about will be professionally retouched in your final portraits.
I’m not photogenic!
Don’t worry, it’s only a matter of feeling comfortable in front of the camera. The Get to Know You Session included with every portrait session, helps you get to know me and gives you the chance to voice your apprehensions, what’s important to you, your likes and dislikes, and share your vision. Thus, on the day of your session you can feel more relaxed knowing Keylight is looking out for your vision.
